Technical Specifications

ISSUANCE AND CLOSING DATES

  1. CARD published on or about the 23rd of month preceding issuance date.
  2. Closing date for print materials is 6 weeks preceding publication cover date. Revisions to ads cannot be guaranteed after closing date. Cancellation of ads not accepted after closing date.

CIRCULATION INFORMATION

  1. CARD audited by CCAB a division of BPA International.
  2. Character of circulation - National advertising buyers in industry and advertising agencies.
  3. National circulation in Canada and the U.S.A.

SPECIAL POSITIONS

Preferred positions – 25% added to space charge. Position subject to publisher approval.

SPECIAL CORPORATE RATE

When a minimum of 60 pages of advertising are used in 10 publications published by Rogers Media Publishing, the advertiser is entitled to the lowest published rate in each publication. The Corporate Rate in CARD is the 12-time rate.

CONTRACT AND COPY REGULATIONS

  1. Publisher reserves the right to make such rate revisions on this contract as may be necessitated by economic conditions on 90 days notice. If a rate revision is made under this clause, and is not accepted by the advertiser, the latter may cancel his contract without short-rate adjustment. If first insertion on this contract is not used within two months from date of contract and if, in the meantime, a new rate schedule has been published, the new rates will apply. “Rateholders” not recognized. Rates are based on total amount of space used in twelve months from date of first insertion.
  2. All advertising copy subject to approval of the publisher.
  3. Advertiser and advertising agency assume liability for all content (including text, representation and illustrations) of advertisements printed and also assume responsibility for any claims therefrom against the publisher.
  4. *ANNUAL SERVICES sold on a "standing order" basis only. An invoice will be sent instead of renewal notices. Annual services may be cancelled without charge by writing "cancel" on the invoice and returning it within 90 days of billing.
    **All inserts subject to prior approval by Publisher.

COMMISSION AND CASH DISCOUNT

  1. Agency commission – 15% of gross billing allowed on space, colour, bleed and position to recognized agencies only. Commission is not allowed on other charges, such as extra mechanical charges, reprints, etc.
  2. Accounts payable at office of publication in Canadian funds, or equivalent funds at the rate of exchange prevailing at time of payment.

GENERAL

  1. The rates stated on the CARD rate card apply exclusively to the regular business announcements of the advertiser. Advertisements inserted for other concerns will be charged at rate card rates for space used.
  2. Advertiser and advertising agency agree that Rogers Publishing shall be under no liability for their failure of any cause to insert any advertisement.
  3. Verbal agreements are not recognized by the company.
  4. Rates are subject to change without notice.
  5. Publishers are not bound by any conditions, printed or otherwise, appearing on contracts or copy instructions when such conditions conflict with policies covered by this rate card.
  6. Publishers shall be entitled to payment as herein provided upon having completed the printing of the advertising and having taken reasonable steps to see that the publication will be distributed.
